New Lab, Smithfield

As part of the broader site improvement works, a purpose‑built Quality Assurance (QA) laboratory was constructed to support enhanced testing, compliance, and operational performance. The project involved engaging an architect to develop a compliant and functional laboratory layout tailored to operational requirements and regulatory standards.

The scope of works included the installation of new drainage lines to accommodate laboratory operations, repairs to the existing concrete slab, and full waterproofing of the floor to ensure durability and protection against chemical exposure. Internally, new plasterboard walls were constructed to create defined laboratory spaces, followed by specialist HVAC installation designed to suit the requirements of a fume cupboard and maintain safe air quality and pressure control.

The fit‑out was completed with custom joinery to support laboratory workflows, along with high‑quality finishes, including painting and detailing throughout. The completed QA laboratory significantly enhances the site's quality control capabilities, supports regulatory compliance, and adds long‑term operational value to the facility.
