Jalco Group engaged us to design and construct an acoustic wall at the rear of their Smithfield manufacturing site.
Ranging from 3 to 7 metres in height the wall provides an acoustic solution for the neighbouring residential properties.
After land clearing, excavation, and levelling, structural steel columns were embedded in six metre deep structural concrete piers. Once the columns were installed, we infilled between the columns with acoustic graded, RMT (Resistive Multi-Touch) Panels.
With strict development conditions and the client being operational 24/7 during construction, our team carefully planned and executed another successful project
The factory was in operation throughout the build, however there was no lost productivity, even during the earthworks.
Keeping sustainability in mind and to soften the wall’s appearance on the residents’ side, the new wall was designed to keep the removal of existing trees to a minimum. The redistribution of soil elsewhere on site further reduced our environmental impact. And we planted nearly 40 new trees and an irrigation system to further blend the wall into the landscape.
